Ian Rankin’s John Rebus is Scotland’s number one, in my mind. The series is fairly long and the character changes are quite extensive. The notorious drinking and relationship problems are obviously at display, but portrayed without too many cliches, I think.
DI John Rebus is your usual investigator, sarcastic and witty, going on the nerves of his bosses and colleagues. “Dead Souls” is probably the darkest novel, but I haven’t finished the series quite yet. Definitely my favourite. Will resume reading Rankin as soon as I escape Bruen’s novels clawing at my sanity.

Not quite yet, making snowmen is my obsession right now…
Also, hungover O_o
So reading is not so appealing right now. : P
… Don’t hit me, it will hurt extra much, since my brain meats are all swollen…

I’m under a lot of stress… but, okay
Made two snowmen so far, was amazed when my six year old nephew dug up a fossil without me telling him anything about controls of the game. Kids these days… Wish we drank on the 24th, but we’re still uptight Poles on this day. Might end up a bit tipsy tomorrow to survive another day of endless food and conversations…

Ahem, yes, it was me. I guess that was a lousy attempt at a joke… Sorry about that… Things here are very slow — I forgot how life here is. I don’t think I’ve watched that much tv in the last 12 months, to be honest. Just caught a glimpse of a film with the translated title “Gdzie jest Kitty” (Where is Kitty). How coincidental is that? Anyway, it’s late here and I find myself sitting next to my mom watching of yet another badly “read” film (this time with Redford). They don’t dub films in Polish, one guy reads all the texts and the original voices are left a bit lower in the background so you know who he “reads” for. Takes a while to get used to, but if you thought German dubbing is bad, you should check that out…
Goodnight, kotku…
